Tagalog language is predominantly spoken by San Josenian especially in urban areas, 72.10% of its total population speak this dialect . Barely 10.24% however speaks bi-ligual or a combination of Tagalog and Ilocano dialect. The second most used dialect is Ilocano which is spoken by 9.25% of the populace. Other dialects spoken by a few are attributed to migration.

San Jose City has over 40 religious sects. However, majority of its people are Roman Catholics (95,482) followed by Iglesia Ni Cristo (7,418).
